Used Apple laptops can be a great alternative to brand new Apple laptops. 

As you may be aware already, Apple laptops are typically more expense than other laptops on the market, especially the average PC laptop.  

If you are in fact considering purchasing an Apple laptop a brand new one simply may not be the best bet from a financial standpoint as you see especially if you are strapped for cash.

• One important reason for many which we’ve already mentioned is of course the price factor.  Once again used Apple laptops can be a much cheaper alternative to a new Apple Mac laptop especially if your budget isn’t very high.  If you just gotta have an Apple laptop with a limited budget this is honestly going to be your best solution.  We’ve mentioned price yet again for most certainly you are on this page because price is your top priority, right?

• Another is flexibility.  You are going to have a lot of choices for there are a ton of used Apple Mac laptops out there.  Often sellers will bundle in their own software packages that they’ve purchased that go above and beyond Apple’s default software suite, or even sometimes sellers will bundle a used Mac laptop with accessories even.  As you see there is more flexibility to find a solution that meets all your needs for a fraction of the price of a new Apple laptop.

• Another great reason to opt for a used Apple laptop is availability. As we’ve briefly mentioned there are tons of used Apple Mac laptops out there from various places.  Five of our personal favorite destinations to purchase used Apple laptops are Amazon.com, EBay.com, Craigslist.org, MacofAllTrades.com, and Apple’s very own website.

First, decide on the model you would like to buy, sounds like the most logical step right?  We agree. The best approach to find a great Macbook is to first browse the Apple website and then perform a Google search to read details from other websites.  

Apple actually has quite a few deals on reconditioned Apple laptops via their own website so you definitely should check them out first. 

By going this route you will also be purchasing a laptop that is Apple Certified meaning it is guaranteed to work as intended.  

Another sweet bonus by going in this direction is that all Apple refurbished products include a 1-year warranty.

Typically if you buy a used or refurbished Apple laptop we recommend you read every detail of the product description and terms and conditions.  This way you don’t overlook what we like to call hidden details.  

Say it has a missing key or a non-functioning component such as a CD-Drive.  Sometimes sales pages can be packed with text and graphics to showcase the product and it is very possible to overlook important details.  By reading every detail carefully you will be able to catch small print detailing something important for example. 

If you locate a used or refurbished Apple laptop that looks to fit your needs, proceed to browse the Internet to find out whether you can locate similar used Apple laptops that also look to fit your needs.  Take special note of features, prices, and warranty options, etc. and compare and contrast everything. 

eBay as we mentioned is one of our favorite places to locate used Apple laptops. Here we always recommend you get in touch with the seller via email to ask them additional questions, especially if anything is unclear in their post.  The same goes for Craigslist or any other source in fact.  It never hurts to be well informed, right?   

Also, if you’re ordering any product from Ebay, especially an expensive product such as a used or refurbished Apple laptop always make sure the private seller or business is reputable with no less than exceptional user feedback.  Always read up on the seller and look for any sketchy details. 

If you find a good deal through Craigslist always meet in person to take a look at and test the product first.  Make sure you meet in a crowded public location and leave your cash in the bank. 

While we haven’t touched base on every detail regarding used and refurbished Apple laptops, the information we provided here is definitely a solid starting point.  Remember folks just do a lot of research and read all details for any used or refurbished product.
