fact personalization is
often the determining factor for our purchases.
After all we are all unique and have different
tastes. Let
me tell you, all of us
here at Laptop-Computer-Comparison literally love our Ok well maybe not literally in that sense, but in our opinion there’s no better way to make a bonafide “Who I Am” statement right now than sporting cool skinned or colored laptops. iPod, anyone? I mean if every iPod came in pink what would say maybe 90 percent of the guys out there do other than tuck it away in their pocket or cover it with an aftermarket skin? Colored Notebooks - Express Your ColorsIn fact they may even go for a competitor’s product which offers color options? At
the
least this would not be very good
business for Apple that is for sure. Honestly
in today’s flashy bling,
bling
society a lack of personalization just isn’t going to cut it
with many. Anyways!
The simple point is
personalization is here to stay so let’s all embrace it and call
ourselves
lucky since we’re not all walking around with beige iPods. :o) Choosing the exterior color doesn't matter from a performance standpoint of course, but it is however still a great option to have because it without a doubt allows us to express our vision to the world of our peers. If
we can pick iPod’s in our
favorite color why not laptops too, right?
Yup, we agree. Honestly
we’re very
thankful that laptop manufacturers have begun to offer colored laptops,
especially
since two of our personal favorite laptop series the Dell Inspiron and
Sony
VAIO now have so many color options. In fact both Dell and Sony offer color options that are in our opinion equally favorable over the standard boring laptop color palette of yesterday. While
slightly different in
approach, both really put effort into
choosing their color palette which is very apparent the moment you pull
one out
of the box for the first time. Other laptop manufactures including HP also offer some pretty cool color options currently and we can definitely say we will see more choice in the near future. Colored
Laptops
Currently Dell's popular Inspiron colored notebooks can be picked up in Jet Black, Alpine White, Expresso Brown, Ruby Red, Midnight Blue, Spring Green, or Sunshine Yellow. Dell Inspiron colored notebooks in a nutshell can best be described as bold in color with a non-glossy finish. Since they lack a glossy finish Dell colored notebooks are for the most part fingerprint resistant which is in our opinion a nice touch for it helps to keep the laptop looking clean during day to day use. While a glossy finish would add what some would call a bling bling appearance, the non-glossy finish actually fits the Dell Inspiron's overall look and feel. We personally liked every colored Dell laptop that we had the privilege to test so far just in case you are wondering. Woman
we feel will especially like
Dell’s Flamingo Pink color option which we’ve personally tested and
have to
admit liked very much. They really stand out and will most
definitely make a fashion statement.
Besides offering all the solid colored laptops that we've previously mentioned, Dell additionally offers colored laptops that contain a few preset designed patterns which we honestly feel are simply ok. At least for now. As of this writing you can find what they call a Chill Pattern, Street Pattern, Commotion Pattern, or Blossom Pattern. We do hope to see more preset laptop designs in the future for choice now is very limited. Basically we personally weren't too impressed with Dell's current preset patterned laptop selection, but we do feel a lot of woman will still appreciate the Blossom or Chill Pattern and many men will dig the Street Pattern. The
Commotion Pattern unfortunately in our opinion is pretty
darn ugly and we are not sure who will like. The typical Dell Inspiron laptop also won't put holes in your pockets for they are priced very well.
If you're looking for the higher-end technologies you will definitely want to move up into Dell's more expensive XPS line which thankfully also has color selection. Sweet! As of this writing you can configure various Dell XPS systems in some cool colors including Tuxedo Black, Alpine White, Midnight Blue and the popular Flamingo Pink. If you're strictly looking for a cool pink laptop don't forget to check out our pink laptops page for these laptop pinkies are truly selling like crazy. Higher-end XPS gaming systems even include color choice including Sapphire Blue, Smoke Grey, Crimson Red, and a Bone White. Nice! As you see Dell is a serious contenter in this crazy colored world that we live in. We must say that after all our testing we really must say that we like what Dell currently offers in the way of colored notebooks. We

forward to seeing
new
future colors from Dell and we
do highly recommend you check Dell out during your colored laptop quest. An Alternative To Pre-Patterned And Colored Laptops
If you don't already know about skins, they are a favorite alternative to pre-patterned and colored laptops. Basically they are a stick on design called a skin which you order online and then apply it yourself. In fact you can even skin many older laptops if desired and other products such as an XBOX for example. Our
favorite online destination for skins is Skinit.Com and we highly
recommend them.
They offer tons of preset skins and you can even take customization up
another notch by sending in your own designs so they can create one

The
first
thing you will most definitely notice visually with Sony color laptops
compared
to many other mainstream manufacturers including Dell is a more refined
paint
quality finish. In our
opinion Sony’s current crop of laptops have one of the best paint
finishes
we’ve seen from a mainstream laptop manufacturer. Paint quality
is ultra-clean and the color palette Sony chose is top notch.
We can
almost guarantee you will be impressed with Sony’s quality paint
finish. When we
first laid eyes on a super cool ultra portable Sony VAIO TZ Series
VGN-TZ2000 in
Premium Carbon Fiber Black and the limited-supply Bordeaux Red we have
to admit
that we were impressed. Sony
definitely upped the quality bar with their paint quality and color
choice and Sony’s
overall laptop quality as a whole is top notch like usual. VAIO TZ
Series laptops as of this writing can be configured in Black, Rose
Pink,
Champagne Gold, Bordeaux Red, and Carbon Fiber Black.
Of course expect additional great colors to

We expect
many of you guys will like the Black or Carbon Fiber Black. In fact one of our own
personal favorites is

wise look at spending a solid chunk of your savings however for a TZ,
but if price
isn’t an option and you are looking for a colored laptop that is
ultra-portable
with top notch quality to boot we definitely recommend you take a look
at the
VAIO TZ series.

to the Sony VAIO CR Series colored laptops. First and
foremost the VAIO CR price wise is actually very competitive
to other manufacturers and it is
available
in some awesome color choices to boot. As of this writing you can pick up an Indigo Blue, Sangria Red, Cosmopolitan Pink, Champagne Gold, Dove White, or Crocodile Brown VAIO CR. We test drove a Dove
White VAIO CR and it
was very Macintosh like from it's quality exterior finish to its Mac
like low profile style keyboard. We aslo personally got our hands on a Cosmopolitan Pink and we all agreed that it is one of the easiest on the eyes pink laptops that we’ve seen to date. A pink we can best describe as elegant. Moving on from the VAIO CR's vanity affair, feature and performance wise the VAIO CR Series are ready to be configured with the latest goodies in tech gear. We definitely highly recommend you check out Sony for the VAIO CR may honestly be your final colored laptop destination.
